Decorating our Xmas Tree

Making special cookies to send to Pakko in AK

lemons are sour

say "cookies!"

big sister was nice enough to share some of the special Xmas tree treat that she made at school - yummy!

Avery modeling the leg warmers I made for her out of the arms of a wool sweater that I felted - this is possibly my new most favorite thing to do. Aren't those baby legs so cute!

Ready to make cookies for Santa.

Sissy is already an expert.

the final product - pretty & tasty!

Avery is the quality control inspector.

Calm before the storm . . .

Avery took one look at this sled and said, "look mama, Santa brought us a boat!" It has been a very dry winter - I'm not sure she even remembers what sledding is - but the girls played in their "boat" all morning ;)

Testing out their new swingset!

no one should be up this early - but since we were we got to witness this spectacular winter morning sunrise.

Sporting the Eskimo gear sent from Pakko in AK

At last it snowed in Denver - Jordyn couldn't wait to make a snow angel.

Jordyn & Avery meet the Sugar Plum Fairy

Hunting for Christmas trees & a visit with Santa

Each year we head up to the woods to cut down a Christmas tree. Today was a beautiful day and fun was had by all. Not much snow on the ground yet so the girls had an easy time hiking around.

This one looks good.

MMMMMMM snow is yummy.

It is?

Yep - try some.

It's kinda crunchy too.

At last we found the perfect tree - the girls both helped to saw it down.

Daddy hauled it back through the woods to the truck.

Say "Christmas Trees"

And then some cocoa of course

And a little lunch in the woods.

Some mountain clinbing.

More photos with cousin Shelby & Uncle Tyler

And last but certainly not least a stop on Santa's lap - everyone smiling this year too.
Maybe next year mommy won't have to sit on Santa's lap with them ;)

Decorated Tree photos to come!
