The day began, as most days do, with a little harmonica playing.
Then Mommy made some bunny cupcakes. And a little bunny cake.
There were juice boxes with attitude.
snuggles with Nana
and pink balloons and rocket balloons!

and presents!
and so much FUN!

Summer Lovin' and a Big Girl Bed for Avery
At last, it seems that summer time has arrived in Denver and the girls have been playing outside. It makes them so happy.
This looks like a choke hold but it was loving none the less. . .
It was humid the other day and Avery's hair was all ringletts so I had to snap a pic - I worry that her first hair cut will be the end of these curls so I'm delaying it for now - at least there will be photo evidence if I ever do cut them off.
and June-y hammin' it up for the camera as usual.
And here is the big girl Avery in her very own big girl bed. It took a solid week before she finally went to bed with out getting up numerous times to come out of her room and happily declare, "I found you mama!" I think she's getting the hang of it at last.

Funny Girls & Garden Time
Before bedtime the other night Avery was in our bed reading to herself and when I walked in this is the clever way I found her holding the book - silly girl
This is a family portrait made by Jordyn in playdough - (the blue thing is Asher, the cat)
Jordyn has recently taken to wearing 2 different shoes - most of the time I let her because parenting experts agree that it's good to "pick your battles" & I like to pick the ones I can win.
And at last it is warm enough here in lovely Colorado to plant our Garden - it has been a chilly wet spring and I was pretty sure Trevor was going to lose his mind if it din't warm up soon - but of course, it did and here are the pictures of the girls helping Daddy plant seeds. This is a new garden box in the front yard and is the site of this year's GIANT Pumpkin. Happy Spring & happy gardening!

What a difference a year makes & a necklace for mother's day.
We were outside playing today and I was reminded of this picture that I took last year right around mother's day - what a difference a year makes!

and speaking of getting big - Jordyn can do this (touch both counters at the same time) and she is very serious & proud of her amazing new skill. ;0)
Jordyn decided to make me a mother's day necklace - she cut out all the pieces of paper and I helped her punch the holes with a hole punch, then she cut a piec of ribbon and strung them on - Avery even helped put a few pieces on the ribbon - what a lucky mama I am.
