Avery's 1st Birtday (a long overdue post)

Yes it's true that tiny baby is now a full blown 1 year old and to prove it she is walking, talking and climbing all over the place. Here are the highlights form her birthday party.

I put the finishing touches on the tiny birthday cake, which I made from scratch and was very proud of. There was also a big one for all the guests, but this was for the birthday girl to have all to herself.

It started out to be a beautiful sunny day here in Denver, but then about an hour before the party was to begin the tornado sirens went off and the rain and hail began to fall. I have never seen it rain like it did and of course the festivities were all planned for outside. We actually spotted a funnel cloud out the front window about half an hour before the party. Fortunately it began to let up and almost everyone braved the weather and came to celebrate. We were even able to venture outside to have cake!
